M.Tech Student
I am Vikas Singh Jadoun, a highly motivated and hardworking individual. My educational background includes schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jaipur and B. Tech degree from Swami Keshwanand Institute of Technology, Management, and Gramothan, Jaipur, affiliated with the Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.
During my B. Tech program, I had the opportunity to engage in valuable field work in the area of Chandwazi near Jaipur, Rajasthan. This involved various activities such as Levelling, Contouring, Trigonometric Levelling, Total Station, and Theodolite surveying. Through this experience, I discovered my passion for Surveying and Geomatics. Currently, I am pursuing my Master's in Water Resources and Environment at Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. My research is focused on the field of Glaciology, specifically studying the processes behind glacier melting due to various environmental phenomena and the impact of ice avalanches on the glacial lakes. Additionally, I am investigating the formation of moraine-
dammed Glacial lakes and their potential for causing (GLOF) Glacial lake outburst flood events, which pose significant threats to both human settlements and the environment.
As I delve deeper into my research, my interest in glaciology has grown further. I am fascinated by how the climate interacts with glaciers, leading to temporal and spatial changes in these ice formations. I am also intrigued by how these changes can have profound effects on our planet's activities and how the movement of glaciers can dramatically reshape landscapes over extended periods.
I am excited about the potential impact of my research and how it can contribute to a better understanding of glaciology and its implications for our environment. I am committed to working tirelessly to make a positive difference in this field and address the challenges posed by glacial melting and related natural hazards. Thank you for considering my journey and aspirations in the field of glaciology. I look forward to contributing to the scientific community and making a meaningful contribution to our understanding of these critical processes.
