My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Western Region Campus, Pokhara, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, where I witnessed first-hand the transformation of snow-covered peaks and the alarming retreat of glaciers due to rising temperatures. This personal connection has fueled my commitment to understanding and mitigating the effects of climate change on these fragile environments. During my master’s at IIT Ropar, I expanded my expertise in geospatial analysis, hydrological modeling, and field-based cryospheric studies, including hands-on experience in Machoi Glacier, Ladakh. Additionally, I have proficiency in Python, MATLAB, GEE, and SPHY modeling where i have processed the climate data included bias correction to improve the model efficiency.
My research focuses on quantifying the spatial and temporal distribution of runoff components in the Satluj River Basin using advanced computational models. With a strong foundation in GIS, remote sensing, and hydrological modeling, I analyze the impact of climate change on glacier and snow dynamics, contributing to sustainable water resource management in high-altitude river basins like Satluj River.
Looking ahead, I aspire to deepen my research in cryosphere-climate interactions, particularly in glacial hydrology and climate change modeling. My motivation lies in leveraging advanced remote sensing, numerical modeling, and field-based observations to improve water resource sustainability in glacier-fed river systems. I am keen on pursuing doctoral research in this domain, contributing to global efforts in understanding and mitigating the effects of climate change on high-altitude hydrological systems. As a new researcher i look forward for the collaboration and any PhD opportunities in the field of cryosphere as well as hydrological modelling. I am alsoexploring the application of data driven model and application of the robust computational and application of Machine learning and Artificial neural network to understand the complex dynamics of the nature.
