Iti Shrivas

My name is Iti Shrivas. I hold a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore and I am currently pursuing M.Tech in Water resources and Environment from Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar.

During my B. Tech, I got an opportunity to do internship in Central Public Works Department, Bhopal and learned about practical applications of surveying and various activities involved in it. Through this experience I developed a keen interest in surveying and took elective courses like remote sensing and GIS which involved learning QGIS software. I am willing to learn more about applications of GIS and Remote sensing. In IIT Ropar, my interest is piqued in the field of glaciology.

My current M. Tech project involves research based on glaciology in Geomatics Engineering Laboratory, IIT Ropar. My research includes mass balance of glaciers, impact of climate change on glaciers and melting of glaciers. I am studying about glacier evolution models, general circulation models and representative concentration pathway scenarios and their application in glaciology. I look forward to learn more about glaciology and applications of GIS and remote sensing.
