I am currently pursuing a PhD focused on the behaviour of surging glaciers in the East Karakoram, India. My primary research interest lies in understanding the dynamics of surge-type glaciers, including their internal mechanisms, triggers, and climatic interactions. Surging glaciers, which undergo sudden and rapid advances, pose unique scientific challenges and potential risks to downstream communities. My work aims to investigate these phenomena through satellite-based remote sensing, glacier mass balance modelling and in-situ observations.

Beyond glacier-specific research, I am broadly interested in cryospheric science, climate change impacts on high-altitude environments, and hazard risk assessment in the Himalayas. My goal is to contribute to both academic understanding and policy-relevant outcomes, especially in the context of India's cryosphere monitoring and climate resilience efforts.
