Bhagyashree Sharma

I am Bhagyashree Sharma, a motivated researcher with a strong background in Geoinformatics and a passion for remote sensing, GIS, and hazard assessment. I completed my Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Geoinformatics at Haryana Space Applications Centre (HARSAC), Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, in 2019. During my MTech, I gained valuable research experience at the Space Applications Centre, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), where I worked on satellite-derived soil moisture data analysis.

Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar). I initially joined IIT Ropar as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a DGRE-sponsored project and subsequently transitioned into a PhD program. My research focuses on developing a dynamic decision support system (DSS) for avalanche susceptibility mapping in the NW-Himalaya region using remote sensing and AI/ML techniques.
