Ankit Tyagi

I am Ankit Tyagi, pursuing my doctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. I have submitted my thesis entitled “Data Driven Spatio-temporal prediction of Landslide Susceptibility” in the month of April. Currently I am working in a consultancy project “River Audit Work” as project scientist. I have been selected as the Postdoctoral Fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway.

Under the supervision of Dr. Reet Kamal Tiwari and Dr. Naveen James, I have worked on the optimisation of landslide causative factors, the determination of the impact of urbanisation (land use land cover) and climate change (e.g. rainfall) on landslide susceptibility mapping, and their effects on future landslide scenarios. We have utilised Artificial Neural Network and Cellular Automata models for achieving this purpose (3 articles were published in peer journals). Along with a strong background in Geotechnical Engineering (M. Tech), I have experience in multidisciplinary domains, including remote sensing, GIS, environmental science, and machine learning, and possess software skills in ArcGIS, ERDAS, ENVI,

MATLAB, AutoCAD, RStudio, GeoStudio, and Plaxis.
